About Me
Frankie Talon Rose, GIT Dip. BSW, BA Sexuality Studies, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Hi! My name is Frankie (they/them) and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), trained specifically as a Gestalt Therapist. I’m glad you’re here, and I’m glad you’re considering whether we might be a good fit to work together. I understand what an important decision (and what a difficult decision) it might be to ask for help.
I am no stranger to the search for healing, for wholeness, for truth under layers of confusion, for making sense of disparate parts. The journey to finding myself as a neurodivergent, mixed-race, nonbinary and queer person took me through intensive spiritual practice, landed me in many beloved therapists’ offices, and propelled my travel over several continents. That journey is most certainly not complete, but having been at it for over two decades now I can say that I experience myself as more settled, aware, peaceful, and whole. I practice as a Gestalt therapist so that you too have an opportunity to find your center, your power, your healing, and your wholeness.
Prior to opening my therapy practice I wore many hats that allowed me to support a wide spectrum of humans in their search for authenticity, healing, transformation and self-actualization. In addition to my degrees in Social Work (Toronto Metropolitan University) and Sexuality Studies (York University), I’m a graduate of the five-year Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Program at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto. I am also a KRI certified Level One Kundalini Yoga Teacher, and a graduate of the Beyond Addiction program taught by Sat Dharam Kaur, ND and Dr. Gabor Mate. I hold active memberships with the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT) and the International Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy (IAAGT).
When I’m not in the therapy office, I enjoy travelling, being in nature, taking art classes and spending quality time with my partners and giant breed dog Winslow.
